SMTP Authentication

In addition to the standard POP3 Authentication you can also use SMTP Authentication. This will be especially useful for those folks who use ISPs or work at companies that block port 25 for outgoing mail. The symptom of this is usually a failure to connect to the outgoing mail server.

Simply set up your client to use SMTP Authentication when sending email. Your username and password are the same as for your POP3 account. The mail server uses the standard 587 port for this method.

Move to eXchange/UnitedLayer complete

All services are back now. We've completed the move to the new location. Note there may be some email delays as mail unspools from the backup servers.

Moving to eXchange/United Layer

all popmonkey/backflip servers will be down tonight between 9pm-midnight as we move the server's physical location to 200 paul, our new colo facility.

mail will queue up and will not get lost.
