poor mail performance resolved
for several months now some users experienced decreasing performance in how quickly outbound mail gets sent from the popmonkey mail server. this has been corrected

Mail server crash
the mail server suffered a catastrophic file system failure and the mail store was corrupted. most users were back in action a few hours later, but some experienced access problems for several days. only a very small amount of mail was actually lost.
Servers in my basement
All of the popmonkey servers have moved from their locations at UP Networks and Topica to my basement :)
